DECATUR -- Police say a man they arrested is wanted for a 2012 murder in Saginaw, Michigan. 35-year old Markest Thompson was taken into custody about 3:15 pm, Sunday, in the 4000-block of East Boyd Road.

Authorities say Thompson was a passenger on a Greyhound Bus and was found to be in possession of a handgun with 14 live rounds of ammunition. The weapon was reported stolen by the Saginaw Michigan Police Department.

Thompson faces charges of possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Investigators say Thompson allegedly shot two people in August, 2012, in Michigan. One victim subsequently died; the other survived.

Officials say Thompson has an extensive criminal history involving guns and drugs. Detectives say they work closely with the Greyhound Bus Line and Pilot Travel Center to ensure the safety of passengers.
