URBANA -- Two men from Indiana are accused of robbing an area bank. Police responded to an alarm at the Central Illinois Bank on North Cunningham Avenue at approximately 2:45 pm Tuesday.
Ronald Corbin, 49, and Dennis Gallivan, 58, both from Lafayette, IN, were arrested after a traffic stop on I-74 near St. Joseph. Authorities say a single male suspect entered the bank wearing a hat, green t-shirt and aviator sunglasses. The suspect presented a bag and gun to the teller, demanding it be filled with money.
A short time later, police found the suspect vehicle traveling eastbound on I-74. A traffic stop was performed near mile marker 197. The suspects were arrested without incident about 3 pm.
Authorities say they collected evidence from the vehicle, including a hat, green t-shirt, aviator sunglasses, gun and bag with approximately the same amount of money taken from the bank.
Investigators allege Corbin is the suspect who entered the bank and Gallivan was the getaway driver. No one was injured during the robbery. The robbery is still under investigation by the FBI plus state and local police.
