LUDLOW -- A group of people in Champaign County have a plan to keep their community safe. More than a dozen people are Taking Action to create a neighborhood watch group.

About 400 people live in the village which has a police chief and a few part-time officers. One of the trustees says it's important for everyone who lives in the area to get involved.

The trustee's plan includes creating block captains for different parts of the village to keep track of what happens in the area. The next meeting is set for October 24.
