Teacher recognized for innovation

PONTIAC -- The White House has recognized an area teacher's environmental efforts. Paul Ritter, of Pontiac Township High School, was awarded the Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Educators.

His P2D2 Program encourages proper disposal of unused medicines. It's focused on painkillers to help make sure they're not abused. The program has honored various programs from all around the world.
