Teen to pay vandalism damages

RANTOUL, Ill. (WCIA) -- Police made an arrest for last week's vandalism at the high school's football field.

A 16-year old was taken into custody Wednesday. Police say he was placed on "formal station adjustment for criminal damage to property."

He'll be required to pay restitution for the damage, estimated between $1,000 - $2,000.

A week ago, chemicals were sprayed on the field damaging the grass. Graduation had to be moved inside because of it.
