Checking out a flick on the big screen is already a summer tradition for many families. And with the Beverly Theater in Champaign still under construction, moviegoers are turning to the theater a little farther south.
"The kinds of movies that are on and the variety," said Jean Haines, who lives in Gibson City. "Half of a family can go one direction and the other can do another direction so you can see a couple movies at the same time."
Haines brought her 7-year old grandson to see Monsters University Sunday afternoon. People say they like using the automated kiosks to buy tickets and seeing movies on the new, bigger IMAX screens.
