Three face federal tax fraud charges

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- A third woman accused of being involved in a tax fraud ring turned herself into authorities Wednesday. Robin Harris, along with Bonita Robinson and Ashley Robinson face a host of charges.

Court records say Bonita Robinson prepared thousands of dollars in phony tax returns. Harris would recruit clients and get their information. They would split the phony refund. No future court dates have been set.

ILLINOIS -- Three people face federal charges for filing false tax returns. Bonita Robinson used to be a tax preparer in Champaign. She's accused of turning in fake returns. Robin Harris is accused of recruiting nine people to have their returns done by Robinson. Ashley Robinson is also facing charges. She's accused of filing false returns three years in a row.
