Since then, mom, dad and siblings are learning to take life one day at a time. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but looking around the Wise home, all you can say is family.
Kerry said, "We have Chandler, he's 14, freshman this year at PBL high school. He plays football. Then we have Karson, she's in first grade and she's six. She definitely is a mother-hen of the triplets, and really enjoys helping me take care of them. Then we have Karlie. She's four, and she's our little spunk fire."
Last year, Steven and Kerry wanted to add one more to their family of five. But instead, their total came to eight. Kerry said she was completely shocked.
"I immediately broke out into a sweat, so then once the sonogram was over, I called Steve."
Steven told her they would just take it one day at a time, and see how it all goes. So far, it has been like a roller coaster.
"It's been up and down. It was rough. She had to stay in the hospital for a few weeks."
Kerry said having a high-risk pregnancy, every week seems like a milestone. The best one was when the three identical triplets were born, just minutes apart.
"Kinley, she is a little bit smaller in size, but she's really starting to gain some weight so she's catching up to Brinley and Sophie," said Kerry.
Steven says, "I see them one way in the morning, and I come home from work and see them another way. It's like uh, 'who's here?'"
Whoever it is, there is plenty of love and kisses to go around.
"We're going day by day now. and just taking in what we can," said Kerry.
"The best thing is to just take it one day at a time. We've already been surprised, so there can't be that many more surprises to come, I guess," said Steven.
