Train lovers turn back time

MONTICELLO -- Train enthusiasts had one last chance to turn back the clock Sunday. It was the last day for the 36th Annual Monticello Railroad Days.

Families took train rides on four old motor cars, including a restored steam engine. People from as far away as Wisconsin and St. Louis attended. Parents say it was a chance to show their kids an historic mode of transportation.

"From the very old who reminisce about the trains, to the very young, like John here, who had some toys to play with, that were train-connected. It was a great afternoon," parent Pinky Noll said.

The majority of proceeds from this event will benefit the Monticello Railway Museum. It's been open more than 40 years.
