RANKIN -- Talk of wind turbines is kicking up dust in Vermilion County. Companies looking to build may have to follow new rules.
The county says turbines are allowed just 1200 feet from people's homes. But, many in the Village of Rankin, think that's too close.
So, the Village Board voted unanimously to change the zoning. One homeowner's not on board with turbines, but is happy with the new rules.
From now on, the Village of Rankin can regulate wind turbines within 1-1/2 miles of town.
