Two arrested in meth bust

TAYLORVILLE -- Police arrested two people accused of making meth. Wednesday police responded to a call of a suspicious item at a home in the 700-block of West Vandeveer Street.

They found items used to make meth including coffee filters, cold packs and lithium batteries. The Illinois State Police Meth Response Team was called in to process the scene.

Jason Beaty, 31, and Gerald Olive, 59, were arrested for aggravated unlawful participation in meth production. Both Beaty and Olive are being held in the Christian County Correctional Center.
