UHS Math Team Makes Competition Count!

    Urbana High School's Math Team won second place overall at the ICTM (Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics) Regional Contest. It was held Saturday at Parkland College.
    The Freshman-Sophomore team won first place, while the Calculating, Pre-calculus and Geometry teams all won 2nd place. Individuals recognized for high achievement include two students who earned 1st & 3rd places in Geometry, 1 student who placed 4th in Algebra 2 and 2 others who placed 2nd & 3rd in Pre-calculus.
    UHS also had winners in the 2-person Senior-Junior and Freshman-Sophomore divisions. Two students took 2nd place in oral presentations which is considered the most challenging event.
    All the winners are eligible for the state competition in May.
