UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS -- The UI is requesting more money from the state for the 2016 fiscal year. The school wants an increase of nearly $68 million to its operating budget. That's a 3.8% increase from this year. Nearly two-thirds of it would go to increase salaries and make it more competitive with other universities.
