The four-part plan focuses on scholarships, learning experiences, impacting society and managing resources. Within that plan, there are a lot of initiatives to reach the chancellor's goal of making the UI a world leader.
One of those is hiring more faculty. The chancellor says she'd like to hire 500 new people within the next five-to-seven years.
She also wants to increase and improve diversity by offering more scholarships. Another main point is buildings. Wise plans to invest $70-million to renovate classrooms.
It's a plan the chancellor says gives the UI "the opportunity to set the course right now to be the pre-eminent university among great ones for the next 150-years and beyond."
Many of the initiatives were laid out in the Visioning Future Excellence Report which came out last month. The chancellor and administrators spent nearly two years putting the plan together.
