UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS -- The University of Illinois has stopped demolition on two buildings near campus. They're on Armory Street.

The university previously dumped the debris or passed it to a preservation group, but leaders now realize the law does not allow them give it away.

The state says it's not proper disposal. The university is working with the state for a permanent solution.
