University of Illinois building receives "green" award

A U of I building receives the nation's highest "green building" honor.

Governor Pat Quinn announced lincoln hall achieved leadership in energy and environmental design --platinum status.
It's the second historic building in the state of illinois to receive the certification.

Lincoln Hall was renovated in 2012 for 60 million dollars in hopes of creating a more eco-friendly building.
