CHAMPAIGN-URBANA, Ill. - CHAMPAIGN-URBANA -- The MCORE project is advancing. Thursday, it was revealed MTD, the UI and both Champaign and Urbana have secured nearly $16 million in grant money from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
The money should help add a boarding area, a new entrance to the Illini Union, protected bike lanes and more. The additions were shared Thursday in an MCORE Open House. In total, all phases of the project will run about $35 million.
