URBANA -- Everyone asks friends and family for advice when considering a big decision, but what if you could ask people from all over the world? That's the idea behind a new online decision-making program.

It's called Ahoona. UI associate engineering professor Ali Abbas came up with the idea. You log on, ask a question, and people get to add their "two cents" to help you find the best decision. Abbas said this will be better than a typical internet search because you may find alternatives you hadn't previously considered.

People using the site can also give advice for others' problems. Abbas has used this kind of program to work with Champaign County teens in the juvenile court system about making good decisions.
