NATIONAL -- The acting head of the Department of Veterans Affairs testified Wednesday about the medical care scandal. Sloan Gibson took over after the previous director resigned amid the controversy in May. Gibson admitted the scandal has led many veterans to lose trust in the VA.

The Senate grilled him on making sure the problem is fixed. The VA is the largest integrated healthcare system in the country with nearly 9 million veterans seeking care.
