Vandals damage school district property

MAHOMET -- Authorities are looking for vandals who damaged several school buses. It happened over the weekend.

The buses were parked outside the bus barn on North Division Street. Crews were able to get them fixed and back in service Monday. But, they had their work cut out for them.

The vandals slashed the tires and used spray paint on the sides of the buses and bar. More than $5,000 in damage was caused.

The district and police are asking anyone with information to call Mahomet police Crime Stoppers. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.

MAHOMET -- Police are looking for vandals who targeted a bus barn. It happened in the 300-block of North Division Street. The barn belongs to the Mahomet-Seymour School District.

Tires were slashed and vulgar graffiti was spray-painted on the buses and barn. Authorities think it happened between 3 pm Saturday and 5 pm Sunday.
