CHAMPAIGN -- Out and about Thursday, you may have noticed a guy pushing a cart with a sign "Walking Across America." Kenyon Eastin is walking across the United States. He says he's walked seven states in 86 days.

He camps in people's yards and lives on generosity. Eastin says he doesn't have a message or a cause; he just wants to see his country.

"This allows me to see it in such an up close and personal way because I am exposed. And it allows me to interact with people that I wouldn't normally interact with," says Eastin.

Eastin is a veteran who served in Desert Storm. He's not putting a time limit on his walk, but hopes to be in California by October 1.
