Village Turns Law Enforcement Over to County

BEMENT -- The town's only police officer is out of a job. The village board voted last week to have the county take over the town's police services.
    That means a Piatt County deputy will spend 40-hours patrolling the area. Board President Molly Stevens says the contract with Piatt County starts in about 2-weeks.
