URBANA -- Combining video games and math problems can be fun and educational. It proved to be true for some Urbana Middle School students Monday.

Each grade competed in the Dimension-U Program. It uses a virtual math competition to get kids engaged and excited about the subject.

They were up against students in four other states. Students answer math problems to keep advancing. They love it because it feels more like a game.

The hard work paid off. The 6th and 7th grade students got 2nd in the competition overall. The 8th grade students came in 3rd. They'll be getting trophies in the mail.
