URBANA -- Volunteers played a big role leading up to Election Day, but their work isn't finished. They've been going all day, and are still going strong.

For Champaign County democrats and republicans, this is the big push. Workers at republican headquarters spent Tuesday morning making calls to voters.

Volunteers also put up neighborhood notices so families know where to find their polling place. Both groups have drivers helping voters who don't have transportation.

One volunteer says the past few hours isn't just about turnout. If you combine volunteers from both parties in Champaign County, there are more than 120 working. Even after the polls close, volunteers will be taking care of clean-up.
