Wall of Faces photos needed

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) -- Lawmakers are teaming up with veterans to help find pictures of those who served years ago.

The Wall of Faces project helps locate photos of military service members whose names are on the memorial wall in Washington, D.C.

Many photos were lost in a fire back in the 70's and still there are more than 450 missing.

Lawmakers passed a resolution in wake of Veterans Day to raise awareness and encourage people to spread the word to find a picture for everyone.

"These men and woman deserve to be honored one more time, they deserve to be seen for the men and women that they are. We need to see them with their smiles, their skinny ties and in order to do this and accomplish this we need to find those photos. There are more than 58,000 names on the Vietnam War Memorial," says Andrew Johnson of the National Newspaper Association.

One day the group hopes to have a picture for everyone who served.
