Wanted man arrested for shooting homes

COLES COUNTY -- An area man pleaded not guilty to shooting at homes. Police say Kevin Morlan fired a gun into four homes in Mattoon in November. Twice, people were inside.

Morlan faces charges of aggravated discharge of a gun. He was also charged with possession of meth and was wanted on arrest warrants from Cumberland and Coles counties.

MATTOON -- A local man is accused of shooting five houses when people were inside. Kevin Morlan is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm.

Police say he used a handgun to shoot five homes; four of which were in Mattoon. Morlan was arrested Monday evening.

He's also charged with possession of methamphetamine. He is also wanted on arrest warrants from Cumberland and Coles counties for DUI and assault.

Multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in the investigation and arrest.
