ILLINOIS -- The weather is causing some problems at state prisons. Eight had to be put on lock-down because the snow and cold temperatures kept so many guards snowed-in and unable to get to work.

The Taylorville prison also lost power for a few hours. They kept the place warm using kerosene heaters. Prison officials say they were ready.

Two prisons, including one in Lincoln, are still on some level of lock-down. All other operations are back to normal.
