Weather impacts rail service as well

ILLINOIS -- Amtrak will have all trips to and from Chicago restored by Monday. The train company is currently running on a full schedule with the exception of the Chicago-to-St. Louis trip. Extra room has been added to that train beginning Monday to make up for all the cancellations.

Most Amtrak services had been canceled because of the weather during the past week. Amtrak in Champaign started back up last week.

ILLINOIS -- Amtrak is still struggling to get back to full power. Service is limited again Friday. Two trains are canceled between Chicago and Carbondale; four between Chicago and St. Louis. No word yet if cancellations will go into the weekend.

ILLINOIS -- Amtrak has yet to fully restore service since the storm. More cancellations are planned for Thursday. Two trains are canceled between Chicago and Carbondale. Four trains are cancelled between Chicago and St. Louis. Amtrak is offering refunds or vouchers to passengers with tickets.
