CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- The weather this year made training for the Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon tough. It also made running the race tough too.

After attempting to train in sub-zero temperatures this winter, many runners dropped out of the marathon or half-marathon to shorter races. Then, Saturday, hot temperatures made it hard for some to even finish. It left more than 200 medals unclaimed.

Race officials wait about a month before they do anything with the leftover medals. That's so people who maybe lose or accidentally break it can get a replacement.
