PEORIA -- Two outside contractors, hired by Caterpillar, were arrested for stealing what police say could be up to $1 million worth of company property. Supervisors alerted police after an employee reported seeing some of the items online.

John Peters and Eliot Wells face felony charges. Police found $300,000 worth of company property in Peters' house.

They say Peters admitted he started stealing items three years ago, and had sold about 1,000 of them on Ebay. Police say the suspects smuggled the items out in a lunch bag.
