SPRINGFIELD -- Some working parents got a helping hand from the YMCA Wednesday. It hosted a "School's Out Day" for kindergarten through sixth grade students who stayed home for a snow day.

It's a new initiative which started this year, stemming from all the school cancellations. The YMCA already offers a number of before- and after-school programs, so workers say, offering a play day, just made sense.

Kids got to play with Play Doh, board games, plus arts and crafts. The day-long affair came with a small fee of $30/child for non-members.
