"We've been a baseball program for I don't know how many years but we haven't been able to win state," junior pitcher Keegan McHood. "We've been their a couple times, just haven't been able to clinch it and win it. So hopefully this is the year that we can really step it up and get the first state title for the town."
The players know just how much that will mean to their communities and their school.
"I think and just being from a small town and having all this help from our community, it's just awesome," said left-fielder Taylor Ferrill. "It's one of the best feelings that can be ever had."
Argenta-Oreana will take on Illinois Lutheran Friday at 12pm at Dozer Park in Peoria.
