PEORIA -- The Lanphier Lions season didn't end how they wanted in Peoria this weekend, the Lions fell in the 3rd place game to Bloomington on Saturday, ending the season in 4th.
"It's tough coming in fourth, losing two games, but it's a special time for us," head coach Blake Turner said after the loss. "It's special for our program. It's special for our city. We were proud to be here. We wanted to win. I think that my kids played hard. I think that their effort was great. That's all you can ask of these kids."
"We've put the city of Springfield back on the map," Aundrae Williams said. "It's been awhile. I just pray that I made my city proud. I pray that our whole team made the city proud."
"We're going to cherish this moment. We didn't finish the way we wanted to, but we played good," Yaakema Rose added.
