Pleasant Plains finishes runner-up

IC Catholic shuts out Plains 35-0 for second straight state title

DEKALB (WCIA) -- Pleasant Plains' Cinderella run through the playoffs came up one game short at Huskie Stadium Friday afternoon. Plains was shutout by IC Catholic 35-0 in the Class 3A state championship game, ending the 16th-seeded Cardinals incredible run.

"It's been an amazing experience just that we got to spend these extra weeks with our seniors," Plains junior  Tristen Tewes said. "We had tons of fun on this run."

"What a great year for our kids and we really fought hard," Plains head coach Brody Walworth said. "We had a great plan, I think, and our kids executed extremely well. Just an unfortunate end to a great year but just proud as heck of them."
