Zurrer to miss remainder of Olympics

LONDON - Former Illini defender Emily Zurrer will miss the remainder of the 2012 Olympics in London after suffering a torn hamstring.  Zurrer broke the news to fans across the world on her Twitter page.

"Tore my hammy again testing it right before our game vs S.A. & recovery time is just too much," Zurrer wrote.  "Gave up my accreditation to an amazing teammate last night. Awful timing for my 1st serious injury, but accepted it & ready to rep my country off the pitch this time."

Zurrer did not play in Team Canada's opening loss to Japan.
