CHAMPAIGN -- Illinois senior Tracy Abrams is using last year's adversity to fuel his workouts this summer.  The point guard missed two shots in the final moments in two of the Illini's biggest games last season, a one-point loss to top-seeded Michigan in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals and a one-point loss at Clemson in the NIT.

"When we first started it kind of brought me back to that (last year)," said Abrams.  "That's probably some of the biggest adversity I've been through but it's all about how you respond to it.  At the end of the year, it sucks to go out like that but I've got to respond better and have a better season."

Abrams is one of four seniors on this year's team and one of eight guards.  He led the team in assists last season and was second in points per game.
