CHAMPAIGN -- One big coaching chance a lot of fans are anticipating is that of defensive coordinator Tim Banks.  Illinois ranked 110th (out of 123) in entire FBS in total defense, 104th in scoring defense, and 3rd-to-last in takeaways.

"All I can do is the best that I can," Banks said after Saturday's loss to Northwestern.  "The things that I've done as a coach for 18 years, I think, stand on their own.  To answer your question, I don't worry about that.  I just worry about how my kids are right now.  This was obviously a tough loss and difficult season to say the least, and at this point we're still grieving for that."

Athletic director Mike Thomas says he plans to meet with Tim Beckman later this week to discuss any possible staffing changes.
