Crawford, Moore earn All-Big Ten honors
ROSEMONT, Ill. (UI Release) – Illinois senior guard Amber Moore and junior guard Ivory Crawford were named honorable mention All-Big Ten Monday, as the conference announced its postseason honors. Crawford earned the honor from both the conference coaches and media, while Moore was named honorable mention by Big Ten media members.
Moore leads the Illini with 14.9 points per game, which ranks 11th in the Big Ten, and she leads the league with 84 three-pointers (2.9 per game). That marks the second-most three-pointers in a season in school history, behind Moore’s 86 treys from last season. She was a two-time Big Ten Player of the Week this season and is ranked 10th in the conference in steals at 1.7 per game. She holds Illinois records for season and career three-pointers made, and career free-throw percentage. Moore also stands fourth in career three-pointers in Big Ten history.
Crawford is second on the Illini team with 14.4 points per game, which ranks 13th in the conference in all games, and stands 10th in Big Ten games at 15.2 points per game. The Chicago, Ill., native is third in conference play in staels with 2.3 per game, and is tied for third with 2.9 offensive rebounds per game. In all games, Crawford ranks fourth in both steals (2.1 spg) and offensive rebounds (2.7 rpg). She became only the 15th player in school history to score 1,000 points in three or fewer seasons when she passed the 1,000-point milestone on Sunday and has scored in double figures in 24 of 29 games this season.
The Illini open play in the Big Ten Tournament Thursday at approximately 1:30 p.m. CT. Illinois, the No. 12 seed, will face fifth-seeded Iowa in the second game of the day after No. 8 Ohio State and No. 9 Northwestern begin the event at 11 a.m. The first 10 games of the Big Ten Tournament will be televised on Big Ten Network, with ESPN carrying the championship Sunday at noon.
