CHAMPAIGN -- The Illinois men's basketball team has plenty of guards this season.  Eight players are listed as guards, giving Illini head coach John Groce plenty to work with.  The third year coach expects to play a 9-or-10 man rotation again this season.  It's a luxury for Groce.  For the players, it means less playing time.

"Guys are going to have to be willing to take fewer shots," Groce said.  "We're deeper, we have more weapons and I think we have a chance to wear some people out with our depth but everybody has to embrace that and understand that it's going to make our team better and guys have been very receptive to that."

Tracy Abrams, Kendrick Nunn, Rayvonte Rice and Malcolm Hill all started last year, they return this season.  The Illini also add transfers Ahmad Starks and Aaron Cosby to the mix, both figure to be significant contributors in the back court.
