CHAMPAIGN (WCIA) -- The Illinois Men's Basketball roster could look very different by the start of Summer Ball.
The Illini already announced the departure of freshman Mark Smith. There's some speculation that other program staples could follow, including junior forward Michael Finke.
The Illini have yet to make the NCAA Tournament during Finke's four years with the program. After the team's loss to Iowa in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament, Finke said he hopes to use the offseason to leave him mark with the program.
"That's something that I don't take a lot of pride in," Finke said. "I really want to help this university going forward, get to that tournament and be a foundation for that part of where they can be in the future. So, really got to do what I can to be a better leader for this team in the off season and get better personally. It's more about this team coming together and getting better."
Finke averaged just fewer than ten points and five rebounds this season.
