Former Illini sentenced for manslaughter

NATIONAL -- Josh Brent was sentenced to 180-days in jail and ten years probation for manslaughter. He drove drunk and wrecked, killing his friend, Jerry Brown, in the accident. Both men played football for the Illini, then the Dallas Cowboys.

NATIONAL -- A former UI football player is convicted of manslaughter. Police say 25-year old Josh Brent was driving drunk when he crashed a year ago.

The accident killed his close friend, Jerry Brown. The two played for the university then for the Dallas Cowboys. Brent will be sentenced Thursday. He faces up to 20-years in prison.
