Illinois Men's Basketball looking for consistency on offense

CHAMPAIGN (WCIA) -- The Illinois Men's team suffered a 78-69 loss to Wisconsin Thursday.

It was the second-straight Big Ten loss for the Illini after back-to-back wins late last month. They'll face Penn State for the first time this season when they host the Nittany Lions Sunday night.

The Illini had offensive trouble against the Badgers, shooting just 34-percent from the field the first half. It's a problem head coach Brad Underwood said he's having a hard time fixing.

"We opened the game with layups," Underwood said. "Why we can't stay consistent with that, I don't have that answer yet. I don't have that answer. I don't like running offense like I did but that's what we were relegated to."

"We've just got to step up confidently and make shots," freshman guard Trent Frazier said. "I think that's where we're struggling right now. We're missing open shots and we can't really get any points down the stretch because a bunch of our guys are missing shots, in a slump right now."

Tip-off for Sunday's game is set for 6 p.m.
