UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS -- Bats were cracking at the UI Softball Fields Saturday. But, kids were calling the shots. It's called Kids Takeover. For the second year, youngsters of all ages to to operate the scoreboard, announce the game and serve concessions. WCIA-3's photojournalist Sue Foster shows it through her Local Lens.

After the game, there was a free kids clinic for those in 8th grade or younger to take batting practice on the field and participate in drills to develop skills. Organizers say it was so successful, they plan to do it again next year.
