CHAMPAIGN -- Illinois sophomore Malcolm Hill is making big gains on and off the court this summer.  The Belleville native has gained 21 pounds as he tries to take his game and body to the next level.  Even more impressive, his body fat is only up half of a percent.  Illini head coach John Groce said Hill's size will really help.

"I mean he loves contact so I think it truly puts him in that situation that he's a guy that will play both the 3 and 4 and he's just a tough cover cause he's 6-foot-6 legit, 232 pounds so he's not going to get bullied but at the same time he plays like a guard so he can draw you away from the basket," Groce said.

"It really gives our team a lot of versatility."

Hill averaged four points per game as freshman but was named the team's most improved player.
