URBANA -- The Illinois soccer team held its first practice of the season Wednesday.  The women are coming off a second-round appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and head coach Janet Rayfield thinks this could be the team that takes the program to the next level.

"We have all the pieces that we need to make that happen," Rayfield said before practice Wednesday.  "Will all the pieces do what they need to do?  Will all the pieces still be healthy?  Will all of those things that have to align to give you the opportunity to make that next jump?  I don't know.  But I certainly think that this team has all of the capabilities to do that."

Illinois plays its home opener August 30th against the College of Charleston.
