CHAMPAIGN -- The loyalty of Illini fans was tested with Tuesday night's weather. The team played Wisconsin at the State Farm Center, but the weather definitely hurt turnout.

Attendance was estimated at about 5,000, much fewer than the normal 16,000. Plow drivers say they tried to keep the parking lot and roads cleared all afternoon.

Fans from all over Central Illinois braved the weather. One driver from Danville says it took an hour to get to town.

The State Farm Center invited fans to fill the A and B sections, but there were some rebels who decided to stay up in the C section.
