Taylor, Wisconsin ground game on the run

Badgers rank first in Big Ten averaging 257 rushing yards per game

CHAMPAIGN (WCIA) -- It's first vs. the worst when Wisconsin comes to Champaign Saturday morning.

The No. 5 Badgers lead the Big Ten in rushing, averaging 257 yards per game. The Illini sit last in the league in rush defense, allowing more than 210 per game. Wisconsin freshman standout Jonathan Taylor is putting up 159 yards on the ground per game, more than the entire Illinois offensive average.

"Taylor is one of the best in the country," Illinois head coach Lovie Smith said. "He's a true freshman playing outstanding ball, speed. But it does start up front with Wisconsin and their offensive line, their big, athletic, knee benders, they play hard, it'll be a big challenge for our guys."

Illinois and Wisconsin kickoff Saturday morning at 11 a.m. from Memorial Stadium.
