UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS -- Winter weather created some extra obstacles for UI campus workers Monday. They're expecting a big crowd at Assembly Hall for the second round game of the WNIT Tournament.

Tip-off is in less than an hour. The Illini are facing EIU.

Earlier, the parking lots were covered in snow. It's something workers have dealt with before. The director of Assembly Hall says they have to be prepared since the weather can change so quickly.

This weekend, 15,000 people attended the Winter Jam concert. No snow then.

A different story Monday, but crews started shoveling snow which fell Sunday and through the night. The director says they put together a plan of action which brought crews in bright and early. He says the last time they had to clean this much snow  this quickly was a few years ago.

He says getting cars in the parking lot is just half the battle. His crews also want to make sure people can get out after the game without getting stuck. Paths may not be perfectly clean, but they're clear enough so people can get in and out with ease.
