Underwood hires Geoff Alexander

Comes to Illini after 5 seasons at Evansville

CHAMPAIGN (WCIA) -- Illinois Men's Basketball is busy with summer practices under new head coach Brad Underwood.

Nearly four months into his time at Illinois, Underwood is still adding some pieces to his coaching staff. He announced Friday morning that he has hired Geoff Alexander as the new assistant to the head coach. Alexander played for Underwood at Western Illinois and served as one of his assistant coaches at Daytona State College. Alexander is the son of famed Lincoln High School head coach Neil Alexander. Geoff Alexander spent the last five seasons as an assistant at Evansville.
