"We have unfinished business"

Illinois softball heads to NCAA Lexington Regional for second straight season

CHAMPAIGN -- The Illinois softball team heads to the NCAA Lexington Regional for the second straight season, looking to take care of some "unfinished business."  The Illini (37-18) lost two out of their three games last year in the NCAA's, including a 3-2 eight inning loss to No. 9 Kentucky to eliminate them from the postseason.

"Our practices have been a little bit more intense and I believe our players have unfinished business," Illinois head coach Tyra Perry said.

"We keep talking about unfinished business," Illinois senior outfielder Nicole Evans said.  "So we're going in, taking care of business and really focused on cleaning up some little things but I think the biggest thing is we know what postseason feels like."

Illinois plays Marshall Friday morning at 11 a.m. in the first game of the double elimination weekend format.
